How to Factory-Reset (Format) the Sony Ericsson G900

The G900 (UIQ 3 smartphone, 2008) offers two ways to wipe internal storage.

Method 1: Menu-Based (UIQ 3)

1. Settings → Phone → Phone Management → Delete Data → Phone Memory.
2. Enter lock code (default 0000 or 1234).
3. Confirm. Phone reboots to out-of-box state.

Method 2: Hardware Key Combo (Works Even If UI Locked)

1. Power off.
2. Press and hold Green (Call) + Red (End) + Camera keys simultaneously.
3. While holding, press Power until vibration/startup screen.
4. Release all keys; follow on-screen prompts.
5. Enter lock code 12345 (default) if asked.

Critical Notes

• Back up first: Contacts, calendar, notes, photos to PC via PC Suite or memory card.
• Memory card (M2) is not erased by these methods unless you explicitly choose it.
• After reset, re-pair Bluetooth, re-enter Wi-Fi, re-sync Exchange/Google.

If the phone won't boot at all, use Sony Ericsson Update Service (PC) for a full firmware reflash.
